iiD designed a responsive eCommerce experience to exceed the expectations of Japanese customers
The challenges to overcome were designing a completely new brand for Modere, Japan and developing an intuitive commerce UI to drive Modere sales. iiD began by taking an in-depth look at the Modere’s U.S. collateral and then collaborated with the Modere Japan team to develop Japan-specific functional requirements and user flows. From there was a born a new, enhanced IA and set of wireframes that was then user tested and refined to deliver more user-centered UI design, both for desktop and mobile experiences.
iiD’s user experience process captured the user journey through detailed process flows. Collaborating with the Modere team, we developed a variety of flows to aid in visualizing the Japanese-specific UX and business requirements.
iiD facilitated a joint Japan and U.S.-based client team to create a responsive ecommerce site that leveraged a global template while bringing Japanese enhancements suitable to current Japanese users. iiD was fortunate to have the chance to help bring a new digital brand into the Japanese market. Ecommerce requires very business-minded approaches such as frictionless checkout and auto-order features, while at the same time an emotive brand through elegant visual design.
The Japanese consumer’s expectation for premium brand experience gave our visual designers the opportunity to put our years of design experience to practice. Just as important as the brand was delivering a mobile-first design to be viewed across a variety of Japanese handsets. We brought the latest modes of UI design to the Japanese market.
